France officially closes Spring Day for Europe 2009

Spring Day 2009 has been a huge success across Europe. The French participants officially closed the event in Paris, on 22 June 2009, with a splendid event organised by France’s Ministry of Education to acknowledge the enthusiastic participation of the country’s schools and award six prizes for best Spring Day activities.

On behalf of Xavier Darcos, French minister of education, Mr. Jean-Louis Nembrini, Director General from the Directorate General of Secondary Education hosted the event in Paris on 22 June 2009.

Taking part were ministry officials, the organiser of Spring Day Europe - European Schoolnet – Commission officials and some 50 teachers, parents and students from the six schools that won the prizes.

“We were delighted at this chance to bring Europe closer to its students,” said Franck Le Car, the French teacher adviser “and we have appreciated the support from France’s administration. Let’s hope even more schools take part in the future.”
